Alienware 310h vs Alienware 510h: Detailed Analysis

Design and Build Quality

Alienware 310h

From the outside, the Alienware 310H gaming headset isn’t particularly appealing. The matte texture of the headset in black is similar to that of an eggshell. To add some contrast, the Alienware logo is embroidered with a glossy finish on the back of the headband extenders.

The AW510 H maintains Alienware’s reputation for producing sleek, clean-looking peripherals. This matte black headband, which is also available in silver, has an alien insignia stamped on both sides. This headset is ideal for long gaming sessions thanks to the cushioned headband and possibly the most comfortable ear cups I’ve ever worn on a gaming headset. Furthermore, its light weight makes it easy to wear in the sweltering summer heat.

Features

The Alienware 310H lacks features. This simple yet effective wired stereo gaming headset lacks 7.1 surround sound, USB/wireless connectivity, software support, and game sound modes. A Discord-certified microphone is included, and despite its low price, it performed admirably in our tests. The voice was clearly transferred and did not sound distorted or distant, as other entry-level to mid-range gaming headset microphones do. A quiet environment is ideal because the microphone picks up on background noises and transmits them to your teammates.

The AW510H headset comes with dedicated drivers but no specialized software, as with Turtle Beach and SteelSeries models. The 7.1 simulated surround sound of the Alienware headset compensates for the lack of audio customization beyond volume.

Despite its lightweight and comfortable design, the noise-cancelling capabilities of the headset surprised me. Make sure it’s not too loud, or you’ll miss that anticipated arrival.

A large remote that travels along the cable controls the volume and mic mute. Furthermore, on PCs, it can be connected via USB or 3.5mm audio connector, but only the latter on consoles.

Performance

Alienware 510h

The Alienware 310H has custom-tuned 50mm Hi-Res Audio speakers with a frequency response of 20Hz to 40kHz. Alienware’s Immersive Audio Technology powers the headset’s gaming performance. The sound quality of the headset isn’t perfect, but it’s adequate for gaming. The bass response of these headphones is so strong that gunshots in first-person shooter games sound boomy, making it difficult to pinpoint their location. Because the headphones have a closed-back, the soundstage is limited, reducing the sense of immersion. This headset was used while playing Valiant. However, the gunshots could have been a little more powerful.

Let’s start with the good news. When listening through these headphones, game music and soundtracks sound fantastic. When something explodes, it has a significant effect. With these headphones, you’ll be able to determine the location of your opponent based on the sound of their footfall. Keep in mind that stereo headphones do not produce a surround sound effect.

However, how does the Alienware AW510H perform in terms of gaming and multimedia? To be honest, it’s far superior to my expectations. Players can hear footsteps over the sound of gunfire in games like Valorant(opens in new tab) and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare(opens in new tab), but pinpointing an enemy’s exact location isn’t always possible.

Alienware 310h vs Alienware 510h: Final Verdict

To be honest, it’s difficult to find anything negative to say about this machine. For Rs 8,249 (approximately $825), the Alienware 310H is a good buy. It’s made of high-quality materials and fits snugly, allowing gamers to play for extended periods of time without getting tired. The headset isn’t ideal for FPS games because the gunshots are too loud, but it’s adequate for other genres thanks to its excellent vision and dynamic sound.

The soundstage is a little smaller than intended due to the closed-back architecture. This headset is a good choice if you want a mid-range gaming headset with a simple design. In this price range, the JBL Quantum 400 offers slightly better sound quality and software support than the JBL Quantum 400.

As an alternative, the AW510H will not let you down in any situation. The wire gives me a tingling sensation when it touches my T-shirt or the chair I’m sitting on. If the wireless version of this headset was the same or less expensive, I’d buy it right away.

The Alienware AW510H is one of the better mid-range console or PC gaming headset options for gamers.
