Design

Although the two gadgets have different designs, they do share one feature in common: they both have a spherical look. The Fossil Gen 6’s design is remarkably similar to that of its forerunners. The smartwatch is still black and round and has several bands. On the right side, there is a crown that is surrounded by buttons. The tiny ridge on the edge of the bezel, which is more aesthetically pleasing than the smooth edges of the Fossil Gen 5, is the most obvious distinction. No, it doesn’t rotate like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic; instead, it’s more of an aesthetic statement.

Regarding the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro, it features a basically identical strap fastened to it and a piece of 2.5D curved tempered glass covering the screen. With the strap on, this watch weighs 58 grams and measures roughly 12 mm thick with a 45 mm case diameter. On the side, there are two buttons. To scroll through menus, the crown at the top rotates. If you press the bottom one, you’ll often be sent to the Workout menu, although you can change this in the app.

Display

Both watches boast stunning AMOLED displays that are clear and simple to read. The Fossil Gen 6 appears to have the same 1.28-inch AMOLED display as its predecessor, and it still looks fantastic. The 328 pixels per inch density and 416 x 416 resolution rate. Amazfit GTR 3 Pro boasts a 1.45-inch touchscreen AMOLED display with 480 x 480 pixels, which is brighter, bigger, and marginally superior to Fossil Gen 6. Both models provide an always-on display option.

Health & Fitness

Both smartwatches aim to keep you healthy and fit when it comes to fitness, but the Amazfit GTR3 Pro has an edge in this area. The GTR 3 Pro will continuously monitor your behavior, including your sleep. The BioTracker 3.0 biometric sensor on the board can be used to assess heart rate and blood oxygen levels. For better tracking, it is also possible to monitor factors like respiration rate, body temperature, stress, women’s cycles, and PAI Health score.

You will also get an optical heart rate monitor with the Fossil Gen 6 to track your heart rate continuously. A new SpO2 sensor records sleep and walking while also measuring blood oxygen levels. Both are waterproof enough to be utilized for bathing and swimming.

Other Features

Both watches include several functions that you would expect from a wristwatch. Both provide you access to notifications, weather reports, music playback controls, and music streaming. You can make calls via Bluetooth, record voice memos, sync your calendars, remotely operate the camera on your smartphone, and more.

Battery Life

There is a definite winner in terms of battery life. Amazfit GTR 3 Pro has won. It has a 450mAh battery, which, according to Zepp Health, can last up to 12 days under normal use, 30 days under power saver mode, six days under heavy use, and 35 hours while using GPS. In our experience, we saw a daily drop-off of 10% to 15% on average every five to six days. High screen brightness, notifications turned on, sports tracking tuned to 30 to 1 hour per day, and continuous heart rate and stress monitoring enabled were used for this.

The Fossil Gen 6’s battery life is advertised as lasting up to 24 hours, but we believe it will only last for around a day or so,  especially if your screen is configured to be on at all times. It appears that the screen drains 10% per hour while it is on all the time. Fortunately, you can choose between extended and time-only choices in the smart battery mode to guarantee 24 hours. It should be enough for one day.
