Design

These, like all other Soundcore earbuds, come with an abundance of silicone ears and wingtips to ensure a comfortable fit in any ear canal, no matter how finicky it may be. This enhances the unboxing experience because Anker makes sure you’re happy with your purchase. The earbuds have to be turned around before being inserted into the Liberty 3 Pro’s case, which is pill-shaped with a top that slides out to expose an uncomfortable positioning. Additionally, the earphones lay flat enough that, unless you have little fingers, you must grab the rubber wing tip to remove them. The case can be recharged using either USB-C or Qi wireless charging, and luckily this time, the port is not protected by a rubber gasket. Since we’ve been using the case in our right pants pocket for almost a month, even though we’d love it to be a little bit smaller, it isn’t troublesome.

The Philips SHS8100 Wired Earphone, on the other hand, has three interchangeable rubber ear caps for the best fit in all ears. There is bound to be a pair of Philips headphones that fits your ear precisely due to the three replaceable ear caps that range in size from tiny to large. Additionally, it has a 1.2-meter cord that is perfect for usage outside. The correct cable length will allow you to position your audio equipment in any way you like. The earphone’s rear cable improves comfort and convenience. You hardly even notice the headphone cable because it is placed at the back of the neckband.

Sound Quality

The Liberty 3 Pro’s signature feature is its dual-driver construction, which uses a larger dynamic driver for the lows and mids and a smaller dynamic driver for the highs. We fell in love with this powerful combination on the Liberty 3 Pro, and it works just as well here. They create a significant amount of sub-bass, ensuring that even the most dynamic songs are reproduced as authentically as possible to a pair of closed over-ear headphones. In short, these are among the best-sounding TWEs we’ve heard. Although the bass isn’t overpowering, the bigger coaxial drivers deliver accurate and rich low-end that most earbuds can’t even begin to duplicate.

LDAC support is present in the 3 Pro, although it wasn’t in the previous model. We’re normally not big fans of LDAC because of the higher bandwidth utilization that it frequently causes, which results in cut-outs and other strange behavior.

Active noise cancellation is another feature added to the Soundcore repertoire by the Liberty 3 Pro, and it’s actually pretty darn good after you customize it to your preferences. Anker created the ANC to be environment-adaptive, employing its external microphones to measure background noise and adjust the severity as necessary. The ANC algorithms aren’t good enough to compete with products of the same range, despite the fact that it generally works rather well even with heavy background noise.

The Philips SHS8100 Wired Earphone, meanwhile, has a very compact, highly effective driver for excellent fit and sound. The passive noise isolation provided by the wired earphones allows for better sound at lower volumes. Your favorite music won’t be diminished by annoying background noise owing to the ideal, snug fit within your ear.  You get incredible deep and powerful bass tones from the earphone’s Turbo Bass feature. By sending the low tones in your direction, the distinctive bass wave design “turbo-charges” the low tones. As a result, the experience is much more engaging and fantastically lifelike.

Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro True Wireless Stereo (TWS) Earphones Vs Philips SHS8100 Wired Earphones: Final Verdict

It’s no great accomplishment that the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pros are currently our favorite wireless earphones. They sound terrific right out of the box, but with a few simple tweaks, they can sound fantastic. The variety of ear tips and wing sizes practically guarantees a comfortable fit in even the most unfriendly of ear canal shapes, and they fit well. Although neither is industry-leading, the ANC and transparency mode is useful, and Anker has a history of updating their earbuds with new features and bug fixes.

Compared to its top-tier competitors, the Philips SHS8100 Wired Earphone has excellent features, but the Liberty 3 Pro doesn’t sound less expensive. If you don’t mind the wires, these earphones are excellent for anyone looking for effective active noise-canceling on a budget.
