Boat Airdopes 411 ANC Vs Oneplus Nord Buds Compared!

The Boat Airdopes 411 ANC is the most recent addition to Boat’s audio lineup. The boat is a local audio and wearable maker. The earbuds use active noise cancellation, as the name implies, to block out as much outside noise as possible, and claim to do so to the tune of 25 decibels. The device can survive mild wetness and perspiration and is Bluetooth v5.2 compliant. The battery is said to last a long time and may be charged quickly.

The Nord Buds, OnePlus’ first audio offering, is also the company’s most competitively priced pair of completely wireless earphones to date, as well as the first in the company’s new Nord brand. The Nord Buds, which begin at $39, is intended to be a basic set of earbuds for individuals on a tight budget.

Boat Airdopes 411 ANC vs Oneplus Nord Buds: Detailed Analysis

Design

The Airdopes 411 earphones are matte on the outside and somewhat glossy on the inside. The angled ear tips fit pleasantly and snugly in your ear canals. On each earpiece, there is a single button with the Boat logo and a multicoloured LED beneath it. The latter is used to ensure that your headphones are charged and linked.

The OnePlus Nord Buds, on the other hand, is sleek and modern in their use of clean geometric forms and flat surfaces. Because of its flat sides and sharp edges, the pill-shaped charging cover stands out.

The panel gaps are minimal, and the lid fits snugly. At first impression, the back pairing button is flush with the surface and impossible to see.

The flat, pill-shaped stem of the earbuds is indicative of current fashion. A capacitive touch surface for controlling playback is located on the outside, in a concave mirror-like area. The stems are only around an inch long.

The inner earpieces of the earbuds are less boxy than the rest of the device, giving them a more natural appearance. Beginning with the OnePlus Buds Pro, all of the company’s newest products include the company’s distinctive oval ear tips.

Controls

Boat Airdopes 411

Single-clicking either button will pause or resume playback; double-clicking the left earbud will increase volume; and triple-clicking the right earbud will reduce the volume or skip to the next or previous track, respectively. Unfortunately, due to the weak tactile response of these buttons, performing the triple-press is difficult.

Charging

The Airdopes 411, like other truly wireless headphones, comes with a charging case. It’s small and sleek, with a great matte finish, and four blue LED lights on the outside that glow to reveal the case’s current charge level whenever the lid is opened. Magnets hold earphones securely in place, making them simple to insert and remove. Each earbud has two charging contacts on the housing, and when you insert them into their appropriate slots, charging begins immediately. On the rear of the gadget is a charging port for the Micro-USB cable that comes with the package.

The Oneplus Nord Buds, on the other hand, is said to last 7 hours after a full charge. My time of 6 hours and 52 minutes in my tests was quite close to the official time.

In addition, OnePlus claims that a complete charge from zero will provide five hours of playing. My best test time was 2 hours and 57 minutes, which is still fairly long but far short of the advertised duration.

Performance

Oneplus Nord Buds

The Airdopes 411 are a fantastic choice because they fit tightly and don’t protrude too far from the ears. We felt the most steady during strenuous exercise with the medium-sized wings and ear tips. Furthermore, the ear tips block out ambient noise passively, making them perfect for use in noisy places such as crowded subways. When you place earbuds in your ears, a voice prompt tells you when they’re ready to pair or if they’re already connected to a device. The same is true if you turn them off.

We tested the Airdopes 411 with a range of devices over the course of nearly a week, including a MacBook Air, an iPhone XR (Review), and a Samsung Galaxy S10+ (Review). We listened to music from services such as Spotify and Apple Music in addition to our own high-resolution FLAC recordings.

Even when blasted to their ultimate maximum, the Airdopes 411 maintain a crystal-clear, sibilance-free sound. The bass is understated and nondescript, but it is present. Vocals are discernible but lack sharpness and instruments in the mid-range can be heard, but the overall sound is adequate. Because the maximum volume is so low, we spent most of our time listening at 90%, especially when we were outside.

The sound of the OnePlus Nord Buds, on the other hand, is significantly bass-heavy, with the upper mid-range and treble sensitivities suppressed.

Mid- and upper-bass sections that are too emphasized dominate the bass, muddying the entire sound. There’s a lot of basses here, but it’s largely sloppy and muddy, so it’s not great.

Although the lower midrange has a very beautiful and smooth sound, it is frequently swamped by the bass. The earphones’ subpar high-end response cuts both the higher mids and highs short. The treble performance is muffled, making the singers and instruments difficult to hear.

Because of the significant emphasis on bass, the overall vibe is dismal and one-dimensional. The Nord Buds have the same overemphasized bass response as other recent OnePlus audio devices, but they also have a weak treble.

Fortunately, the Sound Master EQ presets are helpful. The highlighted “Bold” option represents a significant improvement in the song’s quality. It performs the crucial function of decreasing bass levels while also having a slightly hot top end and a slightly recessed mid-range. This is the most user-friendly technique for most listeners to change the overall tone of the headphones.

Boat Airdopes 411 ANC vs Oneplus Nord Buds: Final Verdict

The Boat Airdopes 411 is available online for Rs. 2,999, despite the site’s MRP of Rs. 7,499. For the price, you get the most recent Bluetooth version, sweat resistance, a small charging case, and a nice fit. Good for casual listening, but not as lively or dynamic as the Leaf Pods or other comparable models. We did, however, yearn for greater volume and bass. Furthermore, frequent audio pauses caused by dropped connections between the earbuds are unpleasant, especially if you intend to use them during a commute.

The OnePlus Nord Buds are difficult to match in terms of price and quality. They have an unusual yet comfortable form, a good microphone, and a decent battery life. Fortunately, the audio tuning can be easily altered using the presets offered; the factory settings are dreadful. To be honest, the sound quality is more than adequate for the price.
