Boat Nirvana 751 ANC Vs Boat Rockerz 550: Which To Choose?

Boat Nirvana 751 ANC

It’s a lot of fun for me to write about headphones. They, on the other hand, have a reputation for being difficult to write. Individuals’ perceptions of sound quality vary significantly. Writing a review of headphones with reasons why I like or dislike them is more difficult because not everyone has the same musical tastes (the particular headphone).

Consumer electronics company boAt, founded in 2015 in India, manufactures and markets high-quality earphones, headphones, stereo systems, portable battery packs, and premium rugged cables. Another pair of wireless headphones sold by the company is the boAt Rockerz 550. The boAt Rockerz 550 could be the Rockerz 510’s successor. The Airdopes 171 has already been released by BoAt, and you can read our thoughts on it here on the site. As a result, look for the most credible Airdopes 171 review.

Boat Nirvana 751 ANC Vs Boat Rockerz 550: Detailed Analysis

Design and Build Quality

The high-quality construction of the product was immediately apparent upon delivery. Because of their minimalist design, the headphones have a sleek and sophisticated appearance. The combination of high-quality plastic and metal details results in a product that is both sturdy and dependable. The headband and hinges are both made of metal (which is visible when stretched), which gives me confidence in their durability.

The Boat Rockers 550, on the other hand, have a cushioned headband and earcups that rest atop the head rather than being attached to it. The black model’s earpiece has a unique grey and black design on the outside, while the red model’s earpiece has a red-black pattern. The earbuds of both headphones feature a boat emblem. The volume rockers, power buttons, 3.5 mm jack, microphone, and LED light indicator are located on the underside of the right earpiece. The headphones have a headband that can be adjusted in length.

Comfort

Finally, the Boat Nirvana 751 ANC impressed me with its level of comfort. These cans weigh approximately 270 grams but are extremely light and comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. I can say without a doubt that they are very comfortable after wearing them for a long time. Another factor that contributes to the comfort of sitting there is the soft padding. Each cup is generously padded and designed to fit over your entire ear, alleviating any discomfort. The headband is adjustable to perfectly fit your head and is padded to eliminate pressure points.

ANC

One of the main reasons most of you will consider purchasing the Boat Nirvana 751 is the Hybrid ANC. Because the headphones do not work with mobile apps, you must use the dedicated button on the left earcup to switch between ANC and Ambient mode.

Although Boat claims that the ANC feature of their headphones can cancel out external noise by up to 33 decibels, I found the feature to be adequate. In short, the ANC does its job and produces acceptable results, but there is room for improvement when compared to similarly priced headphones with active noise cancellation that cost less than Rs. 10,000

Some people may be pleased with the results, but if you frequently fly and want headphones that effectively muffle background noise, these may not be the best option for you.

Battery

When the active noise cancellation feature is turned off, these headphones can last up to 40 hours on a single charge, which is significantly less than the company’s claim but adequate in comparison to other headphones in the same price range.

Audio Quality

Finally, let’s talk about how good the sound is. While the solid construction and comfortable wearing experience of the headphones initially impressed me, the poor quality of the sound they produced left me deeply disappointed.

Boat Rockerz 550

The large 40 mm drivers on the Boat Nirvana 751 ANC should be capable of producing high-quality sound at a reasonable volume. However, the output was underwhelming, and I’m not sure if the issue is with the drivers or with the system’s tuning.

However, the sound quality of the boAt Rockerz 550 is excellent. Every up and down makes sense. At full volume, the sound is soothing, but it’s also quite loud, so you might not want to leave it on all the time. Even at maximum volume, the 50 mm audio driver produces loud and clear sound.

Although the bass response may appear to be positive at first, the lack of depth, combined with the lack of detail in the vocals and treble, will quickly put a damper on your enjoyment. Worse, there is audible distortion even at 70% volume, which is completely unacceptable to me. In my opinion, the Boat Nirvana 751 ANC headphones have mediocre sound quality.

Boat Nirvana 751 ANC Vs Boat Rockerz 550: Final Verdict

The Boat’s quality was excellent, and I had a great time riding it. Another advantage is the ability to use it for extended periods of time. Even though the active noise cancellation and battery life are adequate, the audio quality requires a significant sacrifice, which is why I can’t fully recommend it. If you like Boat and don’t mind the lower sound quality, don’t hesitate. If you want high-quality headphones but don’t want to spend more than 5000 Indian rupees, I recommend the JBL 450 or the Sony 250. Boat Rockerz 550 apart from having a good ANC is also a must-buy product at this price point.
