Titan, a Swiss watchmaker, owns the popular Indian brand Fastrack. Fastrack sells children’s accessories such as sunglasses. Fastrack has created a low-cost activity tracker for India for the first time with Reflex.

The ColorFit 2 smart fitness band was recently released in India by Noisy, a Gurgaon-based startup. The Rs 1,999 band can be used in a variety of modes in addition to the three colour options. Design

When it comes to reaching out to a younger demographic, Fastrack has a wealth of experience. The Reflex demonstrates some of this as well. It’s more than just a fresh coat of paint. Color and texture distinguish the outer and inner layers. Both the inner and outer layers are smooth and rubber-like. Because of this feature, the band is both fashionable and comfortable. We had no problems sleeping with the band on. Fastrack Reflex is a lightweight running shoe.

The Noise ColorFit 2 has good viewing angles and sunlight legibility for an LCD panel, but it could be better. Because there is no always-on screen, the display is only illuminated when the user raises their hand. The display is easily damaged because there is no scratch-resistant glass covering it.

As a result, we believe the band is a little too wide. Because it’s so large, it resembles a massive pen drive and should have been much smaller. Because of its large size, it will be difficult to wear for those with small wrists or a preference for sleek accessories.

Performance

Let’s start with the best of the best. The Fastrack Reflex is an adequate choice for activity tracking devices. When compared to the iPhone 7’s step tracker, the Reflex showed only a 5% to 7% deviation from an average of about 8,000 steps per day. This means that the activity data is reasonably accurate.

The Fastrack Android and iPhone app, Reflex, falls short. Both designs suffer from a lack of quality. The developers focused on a simple app rather than a fun way to keep track of your workouts. Competitors, on the other hand, have fitness tracker companion apps that are light years ahead of the competition.

Noise Colorfit 2 lacks a gyroscope sensor in favour of an acceleration sensor. It’s simple to count steps because you don’t have to move your hand at all. It displays the distance you’ve walked as well as the number of calories you’ve burned. Furthermore, the app’s data visualizations are clean, minimal, and simple to understand. You can establish goals for your sleep, steps, and weight. The band’s heart rate reading isn’t perfect, but the app provides additional information, which is a step up. At this price point, you shouldn’t expect a fitness band to accurately track your heart rate.

Software

Second, the iOS app for Fastrack Reflex is barely functional. Our iPhone 7 couldn’t consistently pair with the bracelet. The “pairing request” iOS pop-up appeared every time we launched the app. Following that, the app obtained data from the activity tracker. This worked on Android, but not on iOS.

We only used the iOS app to sync once every four days or so in our case, so we didn’t see any activity data for several days. This was not a problem with the Android app.

The Noise Colorfit 2 can be connected to an iPhone or an Android phone running iOS 8.0 or higher and Android phones running Android 4.4 via Bluetooth 4.0 and the NoiseFit Sport app on a proprietary operating system. Turning on Bluetooth and selecting the band from a list of available Bluetooth devices in the app’s search bar is all that is required to pair the ColorFit 2 with the app. To have your data uploaded to the cloud, you must first create an account on the Noise Fit Sportapp. You can use it to track your exercise, sleep, and heart rate. Heart rate zone settings allow you to set the maximum heart rate at which an alarm will sound if it exceeds a predetermined threshold. The device continuously monitors your heart rate for 5 minutes per day, 24 hours a day. It is similar to most fitness bands in that it has a discreet vibrating alarm, sedentary reminders ranging from 15 to 180 minutes, and a custom cycle for specific days.

Battery Life

You don’t need to bring a separate charger or dock to charge the ColorFit 2 because it has a built-in USB port. The band can be charged in about two hours using a USB port on a computer, laptop, or 5V charging adapter. The battery’s 90mAh capacity is rated for 5 days of use and 7 days of charging. It lasted more than a week because we didn’t keep the band connected to the app via Bluetooth. When the charge is less than 15%, a low battery warning appears and can be dismissed by pressing the touch button. Using Sports Activity while the battery is less than 15% charged can cause the battery to drain even faster. If your battery life is in danger, an additional alert will appear, directing you to charge it first. Because of this, you must immediately charge the band.

Fastrack Reflex 2.0 vs Noise Colorfit 2: Final Verdict

Despite its three-week battery life, the Fastrack Reflex offers little else. Even if they don’t mind a basic Android app, Fastrack Reflex is too large for most people. Fastrack needs to look at what its competitors are doing if it wants to improve its product. Unless something changes, the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is the best fitness tracker under Rs. 2,000.

The ColorFit 2 is a good value-for-money fitness band with a colour screen, many sports monitoring capabilities, activity, sleep, and heart rate tracking. The lack of a scratch-resistant OLED screen is a letdown, but given the price, it’s not a deal-breaker.
