Fossil Gen 5 Vs Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Comparison!

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

There is little doubt that anyone looking to buy a Wear OS smartwatch should look no further than Fossil. The Fossil Gen 5 is the company’s most advanced model to date.

That doesn’t mean it’s without flaws; it lacks a few finer features that would make it a must-have purchase, but for general all-purpose use, it’s an appealing prospect for Android users.

Because of its outstanding physical design and Wear OS software, the Fossil Gen 5 is still a good option for a wearable a few years after its release.

In contrast, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 is both familiar and novel in the best possible way. It looks similar to the Galaxy Watch, but it is more refined. Tizen-like, but with a more practical and precise Google Wear OS platform,

Rather than using the “Active” moniker, Samsung has chosen a sportier-looking Galaxy Watch 4 as its flagship device, as well as a more elegant “Classic” model that retains the luxury features of last year’s Galaxy Watch 3.

Fossil Gen 5 Vs Samsung Galaxy Watch 4: Detailed Analysis

Design

The Fossil Gen 5 is an excellent watch for any occasion. It may appear enormous on small wrists with a 44mm display, but it is easy to see the display at all times with minimal effort.

The watch’s black silicone band appears to be of poor quality to the touch. Although it isn’t perfect, it does the job well enough. Both stainless steel and leather straps are the same price, and we believe the average user would prefer stainless steel.

You won’t have to worry about proprietary connections when changing straps, regardless of which option you choose.

What You Should Know About the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 In both variants, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 features a revised frame that allows the smartwatch chassis to seamlessly transfer to the straps. In the uniform set of crown buttons, oval crown buttons are used rather than a protruding round crown with a flush side button.

Price and Availability

Fossil Gen 5

With a variety of options, the Fossil Gen 5 appears to be ripe for a price drop over time. For the same price as our Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle HR review unit, you can also get a brown leather strap or a stainless steel band.

It costs $295 in the United States, £279 in the United Kingdom, AU$499 in Australia, and £279 in the United Kingdom.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, on the other hand, will be available on August 27, 2021.

The 40mm Bluetooth version of the Galaxy Watch 4 costs between $249.99 and $299.99. The 42mm Bluetooth Galaxy Watch 4 Classic costs $349.99, while the 42mm LTE costs $399.99.

Display

The Fossil Gen 5’s display is one of its most eye-catching features. It has a 1.28-inch diagonal display with a resolution of 416 x 416 pixels and a pixel density of 328 pixels per inch. It’s always easy to see, though we noticed that bright sunlight made it a little more difficult to see due to the glare it produced. Wear OS’s simple approach to changing watch faces complements these designs. You can easily switch between modes, as with other Wear OS watches, by pressing and holding on the watch face.

When it comes to the Fossil Gen 5, there are a variety of display options available, including stat-heavy models as well as more aesthetically pleasing ones. If none of these options appeals to you, you can always obtain more by downloading them all at once.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Includes An Activity Tracker

I tracked my workouts on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 both indoors and outdoors for a week. I began by doing weightlifting circuit training as a test for my Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 workout, which is an all-in-one workout option that can track a variety of different exercises. Although the Galaxy Watch 4 offers more specialized features, the Apple Watch has a few more options for tracking various sports. As a result, you’ll almost certainly need to import workouts from your phone’s Samsung Health app in order to use the pre-set options.

Battery

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

While I’m impressed with the Fossil Gen 5, I wish the battery life was longer. The Gen 5 could have lasted a little longer on a single charge, in my opinion. Every night, the watch needed to be charged. A reasonable charging rate is offered. Using the included wireless charger, the Fossil Gen 5 can be fully charged in about 90 minutes. To address the issue of battery life, Fossil may have modes such as extended, time only, and others. During the evaluation period, I wore the watch every day.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is one of the best Wear OS smartwatches I’ve used. From start to finish, this is a snappy experience. When you move the bezel quickly, the user interface (UI) keeps up and reacts. When I got a message, I could see it on the watch and choose from a list of prepared rapid responses that I could enter or speak into the watch.

If you’re using the Galaxy Wearable app to manage your watch’s settings, you’ll need to use Samsung Health to pair the Galaxy Watch 4 with a non-Samsung phone.

Fossil Gen 5 Vs Samsung Galaxy Watch 4: Final Verdict

For less than Rs 25,000, the Fossil Gen 5 is an excellent smartwatch option in India. The smartwatch has many smart and fitness features, making it an excellent accessory. If you have an Android phone and can afford it, you should get the Fossil Gen 5 watch if you want a Wear OS-powered wristwatch.

On the hand talking about the Galaxy Watch 4 was created as a result of Samsung’s partnership with Google. The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is one of the best Android wearables I’ve used, but it does have a few flaws that you should be aware of before purchasing. A Samsung phone will provide the best experience because the user interface is much more Samsung-centric than Google-centric. Bixby’s use is unusual, and Google Assistant would have been preferable. Last but not least, charging is time-consuming, and it would have been preferable if it was faster.
