Despite Truth Social’s claim to be a “political discrimination-free social media platform,” it’s clear that the site is primarily geared toward former president supporters. Truth Social will undoubtedly benefit from Trump’s endorsement and promotion over competitors such as Parler and MeWe, but it remains to be seen whether it can compete on a level playing field with Facebook, Twitter, and other major players.
Devin Nunes, CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), told Fox News on Sunday that the Truth Social app should be “fully operational” by the end of March. As of Monday, only Americans will be able to use the app; users from other countries will be unable to do so.
“Seeing people whose voices have been cancelled on the platform is actually very moving for me,” Nunes told Fox News.
“Some Silicon Valley tech oligarch freak people,” on the other hand, have an “opposite mentality” to the company’s desire for users to describe what they want on the platform, according to Nunes.
