Marshall Acton 2 has a unique, iconic vintage and classic design which looks elegant and comes with textured vinyl cover, the salt and the pepper fret. There is a weave design on the front where there is it’s Marshall logo and it will make you fall in love with this speaker. This speaker is neither made of plastic nor of metal, rather it has a wooden frame which balances the sound making it sound natural. 

The main controls are present on the top of the speaker which include a 3.5 mm headphone jack, two LED lights which will indicate which mode you are using, either Bluetooth or auxiliary port and three brass knobs that are for controlling volume, bass and treble. You get a play and pause button and power switch as well next to it.

The Marshall Stanmore 2 has a similar design to that of Marshall Acton 2. Its design is so classy and vintage that no one can dare to ignore the presence of this speaker when kept in a room. There is a wooden cabinet construction in the speaker that provides natural warm sound with refined and better audio experience. The speaker is wrapped up with premium leather making it look very impressive. The front of the speaker has a classic look with iconic marshall design and the Marshall logo is also on the front grille which adds more attraction to the speaker.

The controls buttons are the same as that of the Marshall Acton 2. There are a total of six buttons which will help you to control the speaker. It comes in two colour variants, white and black.

Sound Quality:

The Marshall Acton 2 delivers high quality, well balanced, natural and powerful sound which makes your audio experience great. The Marshall Acton 2 is equipped with three dedicated class D Amplifiers that power dual tweeters and a subwoofer thus if you put this speaker in a small room or even in a large hall, it will blow your mind with its powerful sound quality. There are two options that you can use for connectivity, one is with Bluetooth version 5.0 which will give you a wireless range of about 30 feets(10 metres) and the other one is by connecting via wire through a 3.5 millimetre headphone jack that will enable you to listen to a multitude of devices like a turntable or that cassette deck for an analogue listening experience. The Marshall Acton 2 has a multi host functionality which means that two devices can be connected at a time. So if you connect two phones at a time then you can switch between the devices that are playing music.

The Marshall Stanmore 2 can also be used with two options for connectivity. It also has a Bluetooth version 5.0 and aptX technology that gives a wireless sound range of upto 30 feets(10 metres).  The connectivity is the same for both the speakers.

Marshall has its own Bluetooth app for both Android and iOS devices which you can use to personalize or customise your music experience.

Battery:

The Marshall Acton 2 and The Marshall Stanmore 2 both do not have a built-in battery so you cannot carry them around with you. They are not chargeable and they need continuous power supply.

Both the speakers are great in their own way so the decision is yours as to which one to select upon your preference. The Marshall Stanmore is twice the size of the Marshall Acton 2 so it is best for indoors while the Acton 2 is preferred for both indoor and outdoor. There is quite a difference in their sound as the Marshall Acton 2 gives out more distortion at lower loudness levels than the Stanmore 2. There is also a huge difference in their price, the Marshall Stanmore 2 is more expensive than the Marshall Acton 2.
