Mi 2i Vs Mi 3i Power Bank: Personal Opinion

After using both the power bank for a week, I found Mi 3i Better than Mi 2i. Though 3i is the newest version, it doesn’t have a lot of changes but some changes are sufficient enough for you to go with Mi 3i. The charging power of Mi 3i was quite better than 2i, though there wasn’t much of a difference. If we talk look-wise, Mi 2i is kind of better than 3i. Mi 20000 mAh 3i is a lot bigger and heavier than Mi 20000 mAh 2i. But for me, charging time, battery and other features matter when I have to buy a power bank. So, in my suggestions, you should go with Mi 3i.

Price

Both versions of power Bank have two different types. The Mi 3i 20000 mAh is available at Rs. 1,699 while, on the other hand, Mi 3i 10000 is available at Rs. 999 Only. Similar to this, Mi 2i 10000 mAh is available at Rs. 999 and the 20000 mAh version of 2i is available at Rs. 1499. The 10000 mAh power bank of both generations have similar pricing whereas the 20000 mAh version of Mi 3i is Rs. 200 costlier than its 2i generation.

Battery

Both Mi 3i and Mi 2i power banks have advanced sensors of resistance. Mi 2i and 3i both have Lithium Polymer Batteries. And these batteries are way better than normal batteries. Lithium polymer batteries usually increase the conversion rate of charge so that they could bring stabilization in release voltage.

But there’s a slight difference between both the power bank, With a Mi 3i power bank of 20000 mAh, you can charge three Mobile phones simultaneously that is at the same time. While on the other hand, you can charge only two devices simultaneously with a Mi 2i power bank of 20000 mAh. If an 18 Watt charger is used, your phones will get charged much faster.

The battery features of both the power bank are the same but Mi 3i is much better than 2i as it has some advanced technologies and you can charge more number of phones simultaneously.

Charging Time

If we talk about the charging time of both the power bank, then the charging time of Mi 3i 10000 mAh is 3-4 hours approximately. This is when an 18 Watt charger is used. If you will be using a 10 Watt charger it will take about 6 to 7 hours to fully charge the power bank.

While if we talk about Mi 2i of 10000 mAh, it will take about 4.5-5.5 hours to fully charge with an 18 Watt charger. It will take about 7 hours to charge when you are using a 10 W charger.

The 20000 mAh version of Mi 3i would take approximately 7 hours when you are charging it with an 18 Watt charger. It can take up to 10 hours if you charge it with a 10 Watt charger. Mi 20000 2i will take the same time to charge with different chargers. But, when I used the 20000 mAh power bank, I found it has the same output as its 10000 mAh version.

So, Mi 3i would be a good option if you need a good output after charging your power bank for 7 hours.

Design And Look

Xiaomi will provide you the best features in its gadgets but it always lacks one thing, its look, and design. The Mi 2i and 3i power banks have similar looks. There is no change in the new generation of the power bank.

Mi 10000 mAh 2i and Mi 10000 mAh 3i have the same look and approximately the same weight. While on the other hand, Mi 20000 mAh 3i is very bigger and heavier as compared to Mi 20000 mAh 2i.

If you need a good design power bank, you should go with a light-weighted Mi 2i.

Security

Security of your gadget is very important, as you don’t know what could happen to it. So, good security of your power bank is necessary too. The older version that Mi 2i had 9 layers of a security layer, which is definitely very productive. While the newer version of the generation, Mi 3i has 3 more security layers as compared to Mi 2i which is 12 security layers.

So, no doubt, Mi 3i is more secure as we compare it to Mi 2i.

Number Of Times A Phone Can Be Charged

Okay, so nowadays mobile phones have 4000 mAh battery or more. Both versions of Mi have the same ability to charge several phones. A mobile of 4000 mAh can be charged 3 times with a 20000 mAh power bank and about 1.5 times with a 10000 mAh power bank. This basically tells that a 20000 power has 12000 mAh battery capacity and a 10000 mAh power bank has about 7000 battery capacity.

Overall, both power banks have equal capacity to charge a similar number of phones.

Input And Output

Both versions of the Mi power bank have the capability of 18 W fast charging, input, and output both. This means that the charging of power banks and the charging of mobile phones both will be fast. While Mi 3 has more benefits in Input and output fields, the old Mi 2i has only Micro USB for power bank charging. But the new version Mi 3i also has a C-type port. And that’s the biggest advantage because you don’t have to wander around asking for a micro USB cable.

If we talk about the output of both the power banks, Mi 3i has much more advanced technological features as compared to Mi 2i. The greatest advantage is that it has C-type cable support for both input and output for charging. You can even charge your phone with a C-type cable and also charge your power bank with the same cable.

Mi 2i doesn’t have these features and that’s why is less efficient as compared to its newest version.
