It’s understandable to believe that there aren’t many options for low-cost smartphones. However, if you know where to look, you can find a real steal, with low-cost phones like the new Nokia C21 Plus providing excellent value at an affordable price.
Phones are frequently dismissed by their owners as mere conveniences rather than life-changing tools. Nokia appears to understand that many people prefer dependability and long battery life over quick performance and the best camera in the world, and it is entering that market.
The Nokia G11 does what it’s supposed to do very well for the most part. It has a battery life of up to three days and is designed to withstand a few drops.

Nokia C21 Plus vs Nokia G11: Detailed Analysis
Design and Features
The Nokia C21 is one of the better low-cost smartphones available. Even though the phone’s plastic back panel has wavy ridges that resemble fingerprints, the design is appealing. In the United Kingdom, where it is sold, only Dark Cyan and Grey are available. Images of the latter can be found on this page.
The Nokia G11, on the other hand, is a good size. Its dimensions are 164.6 by 75.9 by 8.55 millimetres, as expected for a smartphone. It weighs 189 grams, which is not excessive.
The Charcoal model was sent to us for review, and it looks exactly like an average phone. That doesn’t make it unappealing. I’d say the back is very well done. However, its inability to stand out from the crowd is a problem. The grip remains constant despite the wave-like texture on the back.
A three-lens camera system is located on the phone’s back. When looking for a sturdy phone, the fact that the lenses don’t protrude much is a nice bonus.
Display
Expect the Nokia C21 Plus to provide a mediocre viewing experience, but the phone’s screen is surprisingly good for the price. In our tests, a 6.52-inch IPS panel with a 1,600-by-720-pixel resolution performed admirably. While the average colour accuracy is 2.87, the contrast ratio of 1,604:1 and peak brightness of 390cd/m2 compensate. This is unfortunate because Nokia could have incorporated high refresh technology into its sub-£150 smartphones.
In terms of displays, the Nokia G11 display takes the cake. The 6.5-inch display’s refreshing 90Hz refresh rate distinguishes this phone.
Because so many higher-priced smartphones still use 60Hz, seeing this feature on this one is encouraging. It makes browsing faster and more enjoyable.
There’s nothing else to say here. When you take the Nokia G11 to a bright location, the screen struggles until some settings are changed.
Performance
Unisoc’s SC9863A processor powers the C21 Plus. The UK version of this octa-core processor with an IMG8322 GPU comes with only 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.
Although this appears to be a flaw, our testing shows that the Nokia C21 Plus is the fastest smartphone in its class. Geekbench 5 multi-core results show a 25% difference in performance between the Nokia 1.4 and the C21 Plus, with the C21 Plus being 25% lower than the Nokia 1.4.
When it comes to the Nokia G11, things are a little different. The Nokia G11 received a single-core Geekbench 5 score of 312. When compared to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, it was so low that it couldn’t even compete.
For multi-core performance, there were only 1,135 points and a computed score of 516. In everyday use, the Nokia G11 is not as slow, but there is still a slight delay before Chrome or another basic app is launched.
On the plus side, the Nokia G11’s Android 11 experience is relatively pure, allowing you to unlock your phone quickly. Despite its lack of entertainment features, this device gets the job done.

Battery
Unfortunately, the battery life has suffered. The Nokia C21 Plus lasted only 13 hours and 10 minutes in our video playback test, about an hour and a half less than the Nokia 1.4. As a result, even if you only use your phone occasionally, you’ll need to charge it every night.
Aside from the display, the Nokia G11’s battery life is another standout feature. In fact, the three-day battery life promised by Nokia is easily met. Even if it is slow, having a device that does not require constant recharging is a nice perk.
The charging support of 18W is adequate for recharging, and a full charge takes only a few hours. Of course, wireless charging is not supported.
Cameras
The Nokia C21 Plus’s cameras are fairly basic, with a 13MP main camera, a 2MP depth-sensing unit, and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. There’s not much to say about these except that they’ll suffice in a pinch and that if you’re an Instagram snap-happy fanatic, you’ll need to spend a lot more. The images are reasonably detailed and have a pleasing, neutral color balance, but they fall short in terms of exposure and focus. Overexposure can be a problem in bright light because it increases the likelihood of soft photographs. When I pressed the shutter button, it took some time for the camera to capture an image.
The camera on the Nokia G11 does its job, but don’t expect much in the way of fun features. Aside from the main 13-megapixel camera, there are two additional lenses on the back: a 2-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth camera. There is an 8MP front-facing selfie camera included.
A quick glance at the Nokia G11’s 13MP camera reveals the phone’s inability to capture much detail. The images occasionally appear washed out. High dynamic range (HDR) tries to help, but it frequently produces colors that appear strange and overly vibrant.
The finer details of the flowers were omitted to achieve an unnatural vividness in the photographs. Meanwhile, our cat has lost some of its definition as well.
Nokia C21 Plus vs Nokia G11: Conclusion
This is an excellent smartphone for the price. It outperforms the Nokia 1.4 in several categories, including processing power, overall design, and display quality.
With flaws like slow micro-USB charging and short battery life, you could get much worse for your money. Taking everything into account, I’d say it’s the best phone currently available in its price range.
Go for Nokia G11 if You’re looking for a battery that will last a long time. If you’re constantly on the go and don’t have access to a charger, the Nokia G11 will outlast the competition.
The Nokia G11, on the other hand, does a good job for its price, and its cameras and speed will not blow you away. Security updates will ensure that it remains operational for a long time.
