Oneplus Nord Buds Vs Realme Buds Q2: Which Is Better?

OnePlus released its first phone outside of the number series, the Nord, in 2020, and it was significantly less expensive. Nord’s audio products are now available alongside its smartphones. The Nord Buds genuine wireless headset is one of OnePlus’s many new products.

Over the last few years, there have been significant advancements in truly wireless earphones, making the product category accessible to even budget shoppers. In India, the true wireless industry is seeing a significant push toward features and design, with many manufacturers providing excellent value for money. Realme, which has made a name for itself as a prominent smartphone manufacturer, is now focusing on the emerging market of true wireless charging stations.

Oneplus Nord Buds vs Realme Buds Q2: Detailed Analysis

Design

OnePlus’ true wireless earphone design language has remained consistent thus far, with curves around the earpieces, rounded, slender stems, and charging cases free of sharp edges. The OnePlus Nord Buds are designed completely differently, with longer stems on the earpieces and large, clear touch areas for controlling the device. Furthermore, the charging case is square, with sharp corners and flat bottom and top surfaces.

Despite its low price, the Realme Buds Q2 outperforms its predecessor in terms of style and styling. The earbuds come in either black or grey, with grey being my personal favourite. While the earpieces and charging case are made of plastic, the dull and smooth surface gives them a premium appearance. The earpieces were pleasant for me, in addition to the three sets of silicone ear tips included in the sales package. A USB Type-C charging cable is also included.

Controls

Oneplus Nord Buds

The OnePlus Nord Buds’ earpieces have wide, tactile touch-sensitive surfaces that make it simple to use touch controls. The melody app allows you to quickly switch between the last two associated devices by invoking your smartphone’s default voice assistant. The app allows you to choose between four different equalizer presets as well as four different battery levels for the charging case and the headphones.

The touch controls on the Realme Q2 are simple to use because the touch-sensitive zones are large enough to ensure good precision and few mis-hits, and you can even personalize the controls with the Realme Link app. Simple touch movements can be used to adjust playback, noise cancellation, and transparency settings, as well as your phone’s voice assistant. As a result, you must control the volume of the earpieces using your associated source device.

Sound Quality

If you’re looking to replace your current headphones, you’ll be pleased to know that you have two options. I believe OnePlus did a good job delivering good sound quality for its price point, and I believe this is the most important aspect of the phone’s experience.

Pretty Lights’ Hot Like Dimes didn’t take long to show the Nord Buds’ main drivers just how loud they could get. Even if you only listen to music at half volume, these earbuds can provide a loud and immersive listening experience. The bass-friendly sound signature gave this electronic sample-based piece a lot of thump and energy, especially at the beginning when the music had an impressive atmospheric atmosphere.

Realme’s audio products have historically had a mixed bag of sound quality and overall performance. Realme, on the other hand, has an excellent pair of earbuds in the Buds Q2. Even at Rs. 2,499, an all-in-one product with this many features and performance levels will be difficult to find for less than Rs. 3,000 right now.

It made no difference whether I was listening to music on an iOS or Android device because the SBC and AAC codecs were both supported, and the earbuds were designed to work well with streaming music as well. My primary source device, an iPhone 12 mini (Evaluation), had fast and consistent connectivity, and I was able to obtain audio content for my review from Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music.

Battery

The OnePlus Nord Buds may last up to five hours on a single charge with moderate volume levels, while the charging case may last up to three more charges for a total playtime of 20-21 hours. The case and earpieces took about 25 minutes to fully charge, and fast charging means you should get five hours of listening time after only 10 minutes of charging.

The battery life of the Realme Buds Q2 on the other hand is more than adequate. On an iPhone, using the earpieces with active noise reduction at 70-80 per cent gave them a battery life of about 4 hours and 15 minutes. An additional three charges from the charging case increased the overall battery life to approximately 17 hours. When ANC is turned off, Realme offers three hours of listening time after only 10 minutes of charging for the earphones and case.

Oneplus Nord Buds vs Realme Buds Q2: Final Verdict

The Nord sub-brand of OnePlus is known for its low-cost, high-value handsets, and the company’s first audio product under the Nord name continues that tradition. It’s a stylish headset with good sound quality and useful features like fast charging and Quick Switch for under Rs. 3,000

It’s incredible, however, to have so many options for truly wireless earphones in this price range. In addition to the Realme Buds Q2, you might consider the OnePlus Buds Z or Nokia Power Earbuds Lite for better sound quality, longer battery life, and IPX7 water resistance. If noise cancellation is important to you, the Buds Q2 is the best option under Rs. 3,000.
