Poco F4 GT vs Poco X3 Pro: Detailed Analysis

Design

The traditional colours for the F4 GT’s two-piece cardboard packaging are Poco yellow and black. Instead of being a single hue, the black now has a faint carbon fibre pattern. Despite the fact that it does not, the name contains a hint of gaming. This isn’t just about the clothes. The 120W HyperCharge adapter’s cord is both stylish and functional, thanks to an L-shaped plug covered in aluminium. The shape was created to keep the wire out of the way during long gaming sessions. It would have been a welcome addition to Xiaomi’s genuine flagships, such as the 12 and 12 Pro. Oh, and the cable is 1.5 meters long, rather than the industry standard of one meter.

The Poco brand clearly targets a younger demographic due to the Poco X3’s eye-catching appearance. Some of the most recent Poco phones have featured eye-catching designs, bright colours, and unusual camera module shapes. This is not surprising given that both phones have a massive camera module in the back centre that resembles a circle with smoothed-out top and bottom edges.

Processor

Despite being billed as the best Android chip available, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1’s performance isn’t limited to gaming. The F4 GT is more of a crossover device than a direct competitor to the Red Magic and Black Sharks of the world because it lacks the fans found on certain ‘gaming’ phones.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 SoC is the most exciting part of the Poco X3 Pro. We’ve never seen anything like this CPU before, and it’s even rare. Qualcomm has never released two 800-series models in the same year, but the Snapdragon 870 and 860 are the first. While still powerful by today’s standards, it is an updated version of the Snapdragon 855 processor from the previous generation. This is a good choice when compared to the Poco F1’s use of the Snapdragon 845, which was ancient but still quite capable at the time.

Performance

A phone costing around Rs. 20,000 should deliver flawless performance in casual everyday use, and the Poco X3 Pro does not disappoint. This system supports all of your social media and communication apps, as well as casual gaming and productivity tools. I didn’t notice any lag when switching between intensive programs.

Benchmarks can demonstrate the performance of the Snapdragon 860 SoC. AnTuTu 9’s score of 5,43,796 points is exceptional for a phone in this price range. Instead, the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max received 2,71,830 points, while the Realme X7 5G received 3,35,698 points. (However, scores for previous versions of AnTuTu are not directly comparable.) According to Geekbench 5, the X3 Pro scored 1,892 points in the multi-core test and 752 points in the single-core test. During the 3DMark Wild Life graphics tests, the T-Rex and Car Chase scenarios in GFXBench performed at 119 and 39 frames per second, respectively, yielding a score of 3,476.

Poco will be able to use the highest-spec Qualcomm chipset for the phone’s April 2022 debut when it comes to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The 12GB RAM in my 256GB review device was more than enough, but the 8GB RAM in the 128GB variant is significantly less.

In the grand scheme of things, it’s hardly the best Android flagship phone, let alone a gaming device. There are no complaints here. It nailed everything, and I don’t just mean the games.

Battery Life

The Poco really shines when it comes to charging, thanks to its 120W connected rapid charging capabilities. It’s unbelievable. I went from 0 to 100 per cent on the phone’s battery in 20 minutes.

The Poco X3 Pro has a 6.67-inch LCD screen with full HD+ resolution. It supports HDR10 and has a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. In addition, the phone comes with a 5,160mAh battery and a 33W fast charger.

Cameras

Cameras aren’t a priority for Poco, but this phone’s triple-lens arrangement makes up for it. The 64MP f/1.9 primary sensor on the Sony IMX686 is responsible for the majority of the work here, and the results are clean and sharp in bright light.

Cameras For The Poco X3 Pro

The rear cameras on the Poco X3 Pro are lower resolution than those on the Poco X3. In comparison to a lower-end model in the same series, you get a 48-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The sensitivity and ability of a sensor to focus light are far more important considerations. It will be interesting to see how well the Poco X3 Pro performs and whether users are ready to move beyond the traditional “larger is better” marketing messaging. Poco has done something unusual in the mobile phone market by creating a gaming phone that can also pass for a regular phone when not in use. This could appeal to a wide range of customers.

The design incorporates fun and necessary features such as trigger buttons and cooling technologies, but they are subtle enough that no one will notice.

While the cameras are excellent, the screen is only adequate. If 5G is critical to you and you intend to use all of the CPU power for a few years, this is not the best option. Furthermore, it is quite large and heavy.
