Designing and Fitting

The new Skullcandy Indy Evo, like its predecessor, has stems for microphones and charging points that are inserted into the ear canals. Showcasing Skullcandy’s best style. They’re made of plastic, but they’re well-made, thanks to the text on the earpieces and the serial number on the charging case, making this a visually appealing set of truly wireless earphones for less than Rs. 10,000.

One of my favourite aspects of the Skullcandy Indy Evo earpieces was how well they fit. The secure fit of in-canal tips and ears provided adequate noise isolation. Even after some light exercise, they didn’t need to be adjusted (like quickly climbing and descending flights of stairs).

When it came to wearing the Skullcandy Indy Fuel earbuds, their comfort level pleasantly surprised me. The stems on Apple AirPods keep the earbuds firmly in place without protruding outward. The retail package includes multiple sets of tips and stability ear gels to help you find the perfect fit.

Battery

The Indy Fuel earbuds fall short of the similarly priced rivals from Sony and Soundcore, which can play music wirelessly for up to six hours before needing to be recharged. Skullcandy has compensated for this shortcoming by providing a more versatile case that is compatible with wireless chargers. The battery case for the earbuds is the same as that of Apple’s AirPod Pro. It can hold four full charges for a total of 30 hours of charge-free time. It was convenient to charge it and my phone at the same time using a dual wireless charger. A USB-C connector is also included for convenience

The Skullcandy Indy Evo’s 6mm drivers have a frequency response range of 20-20,000Hz. The retail package includes three sets of silicone tips, two sets of “stability ear gels,” and a USB Type-C charging cable.

The Skullcandy Indy Evo’s earphones can be fast-charged in two ways: charging the earphones for 10 minutes and charging the case for 10 minutes. In other words, each charging cycle provided us with approximately 25 hours of listening time from our earpieces, with the case providing an additional four hours of juice. This is a common problem with true wireless earphones in this price range.

Attractiveness

Skullcandy’s budget and mid-range headphones haven’t surprised me, but they haven’t disappointed me either. Skullcandy’s Indy Evo is no exception to this rule: it’s a functional pair of earphones with poor sound quality. The sound isn’t bad, but it’s also not memorable.

Limiting these earphones to the SBC Bluetooth codec also appeared to have an effect on sound quality. The addition of the AAC codec to the Skullcandy Indy Evo may have resulted in a slight improvement in audio quality and detail. A pleasant listening experience is enhanced by passive noise isolation and good sound quality.

If you leave your Indy Fuel earbuds at home, you can use the Tile app to play a high-pitched sound at maximum volume. As long as the surrounding environment is quiet, the feature will assist you in locating them.

If you leave your earbuds at a gym or coffee shop, the Tile app will show you their most recent location on a map. If your earbuds come into contact with another Tile user, you’ll be notified.

These earbuds can withstand sweaty workouts as well as water immersion due to their IP55 water and dust resistance.

Call Quality

The impressive interplay between the two channels was missing when listening with the Indy Evo; the sound came from the dead centre rather than simulating a larger “stage.” Even though the earphones could occasionally bring out detail, this was due to the recording rather than the earphones themselves.

The Skullcandy Indy Evo’s excellent audio quality makes it simple to make phone calls. Despite the lack of additional features such as environmental noise cancellation, the passive noise isolation and microphones worked well enough for me to ensure good sound quality on both ends of the call.

It’s a standard set of Skullcandy Indy Evo earphones. Most people do not select a pair of truly wireless earphones based on features such as fit or bass control. When it comes to sound quality and features, the Indy Evo just about gets the job done, but it doesn’t go any further. This pair of earphones will not disappoint you, but they will also not excite you.

While the Skullcandy Evo does the job, in terms of overall quality, the Lypertek Tevi remains our top pick for under Rs. 10,000. Skullcandy’s Indy Evo is not for you, no matter how much you enjoy wearing the brand or how much you value a secure fit and fashionable design.

Although the Skullcandy Fuel earbuds have a few flaws in terms of sound quality and design, they’re a compelling option for under $100 thanks to features such as a built-in Tile tracker and a wireless charging case. If you don’t need wireless charging, the Skullcandy Indy Evo earbuds are a great option. For $20 less, they have the same look, feel, and sound.
