When playing at 240 frames per second or higher, you may need to limit yourself to 144 frames per second or less to reduce coil whine. When it comes to your FPS cap and refresh rate, you have some leeway depending on your monitor and GPU.
Even if your monitor is set to 144 Hz and your graphics card isn’t capable of it, a 120 FPS or lower FPS cap can prevent your card from occasionally reaching 144 FPS.

How To Fix Coil Whine On a Laptop Or Desktop Computer
Coil whine is impossible to completely eliminate from a laptop because lower-end components such as the GPU, Motherboard, PSU, and Hard Disk cannot be replaced.
Returning a laptop to the manufacturer or purchasing a new laptop can resolve coil whining.
The GPU’s Coil Whining noise, on the other hand, can be reduced or limited using the methods listed below.
VSync, FreeSync, and GSync are all options. As a result of the lower frame rate, your GPU will be less taxed.
Coil whine noise is reduced due to lower electromagnetic force and fewer vibrations caused by less load on the GPU.
While this may reduce coil whine, it will result in low frames per second (FPS) on games, causing lags and negatively impacting your performance.
