OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Vs Nothing Ear 1: Detailed Analysis

Design

One of the better all-around true wireless earbuds sets of 2021 was the original OnePlus Buds Pro, which came with strong audio, a terrific fit, ANC, and wireless charging at a fair price. We are therefore thrilled to learn about the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, which is expected to be the successor.

The design of these earphones is if there is one area where OnePlus really excelled. Both the Buds Pro and their case are quite appealing. Although they are relatively basic, their appeal may come from their simplicity. They are astonishing to us since the lines connecting the various components of the earbuds seem to flow seamlessly from one spot to the next. The metallic coating on the stems is the only factor that defines them apart from the casings.

The Ear 1 earbuds have a short, flat stem that extends from the driver housing, which is quite similar to the Apple AirPods Pro in shape and design. Nothing comes with three oblong silicone ear tips in varying sizes, so you should be able to choose one that fits comfortably and tightly. The earphones are so lightweight (4.7g individually) that you won’t even notice you are using them. Additionally, the earphones have an IPX4 rating, which qualifies them as a good fitness accessory.

Extra Features & Battery Life

It will have dual 11mm and 6mm audio drivers in the Buds Pro 2. (the original only had single 11mm drivers). Support for LDHC 4.0 spatial audio is another allegedly new feature of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, further equating it to the Apple AirPods Pro. Adaptive noise cancellation reportedly now has a higher maximum level than the original 40 dB (ANC), and it also makes a comeback. Again, for good voice separation, both earbuds will have three microphones.

The Buds Pro 2 is expected to have a battery life of 6 hours with active ANC (22 hours with the case) or 9 hours without ANC. Both wireless charging and Warp Charge rapid charging are back, and you can get 10 hours of playtime with only 10 hours of plugged-in time. That matches the original exactly. Along with support for Google Fast Pair, Bluetooth 5.2, and a 69ms low latency mode, IP55 water resistance makes a comeback (the original could only drop to 94ms). Although there are no renderings or photographs of the new buds, it is reported that they will also be available in a new green shade in addition to the standard white and black.

The Nothing earbuds feature a lively, enjoyable sound that is perfect for everyday listening. It has outstanding highs and treble, and the bass is deep and well-controlled. While the majority of music genres sound OK, some may experience difficulties with separation in more intricate recordings or an overly emphasized treble. The Ear 1s sound fine for the price and are entertaining to listen to, but they won’t bother the best in the business.

The Ear 1 only provides up to 4 hours of gameplay with ANC on, which is probably the biggest letdown in terms of battery life (up to 6 with the function turned off). With Active Noise Cancelling on, the majority of more recent competitors provide playtimes of 5, 5, or even 7 hours. Additionally attractive is the charging case, which has a transparent casing in which the earphones are placed sideways. With a small hole for your finger in the lid and the ability to fully recharge the earphones five times before needing additional power through USB-C or wireless charging, it’s even entertaining to play with. However, because of its size, it is uncomfortable to carry when walking in a pants pocket.

Final Verdict: OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Vs Nothing Ear 1

Nothing has achieved extraordinary success with the Ear 1 genuine wireless earphones despite this being the company’s debut offering. There isn’t much to criticize since this headset provides balanced and detailed sound, good active noise cancellation, respectable features, and excellent design for a relatively affordable in India. This should be at the top of your list of possibilities to think about if you’re looking for mid-range true wireless headphones.

OnePlus Buds Pro 2 are good earphones if you want to listen to music or podcasts while reducing some background noise, but despite their compatibility with the LHDC codec, they aren’t direct rivals to goods aimed more specifically at audiophiles. If design were your topmost choice, you should buy these solely for the fact that they look unbelievably fantastic.
