The Nothing Ear 1 is likely to appeal to the majority of listeners. The Nothing Ear 1 reproduces low and midrange frequencies more accurately than other low-cost earbuds.

Despite the presence of bass notes on the Nothing Ear 1, they do not overpower other sounds. The guitar and Ed Sheeran’s vocals can be heard clearly at 0:57 of Bad Habits, while the kick drum and bassline are playing simultaneously.

The frequency response of the OnePlus Buds Pro is very similar to our house curve, with a noticeable increase in bass and treble. Fine-tuning the audio quality is impossible because the OnePlus Buds Pro companion app lacks a custom EQ. Only the EQ settings on your preferred streaming service can be changed, but those changes will be applied to any other devices playing music.

Despite OnePlus’s motto of “Never Settle,” the OnePlus Buds Pro is difficult to justify without settling. From personalization to sound quality to noise cancellation, the OnePlus Buds Pro is adequate—but not exceptional—in every way.
