One Plus Buds Nord Vs OnePlus Buds Z2 Comparison!

OnePlus is now a major player in the wireless headphones and earbuds market. It sells high-quality headphones ranging from the low-cost Buds Z to the high-end Buds Pro. Previously associated with smartphones, the company has just released its first set of Nord earbuds. These earbuds, like the Nord phones, are less expensive than the rest of OP’s offerings, but at the expense of a few features. Given the low price of $39, this is not surprising, as these buds offer excellent value for money.

The OnePlus 9RT and OnePlus Buds Z2 were released in India beginning in early January (the best smartphone under Rs 50,000, read the review here). Despite its high price, the OnePlus Buds Z2 is an upgrade over its predecessor. Do you want to spend the least amount of money on a truly wireless stereo earphone (TWS)? The OnePlus Buds Z2 could be an excellent choice. Why? Continue reading to find out more.

One Plus Buds Nord Vs OnePlus Buds Z2: Detailed Analysis

Design

We’ll begin with the most visible component, the charging case. The OnePlus Buds Z2 charging case is long and oval in shape, with the OnePlus logo on top. There are black and white versions available. The one I had was completely black. It’s nothing more than a charging case with an indicator light. On the back, there’s a USB Type-C charging port and a button for connecting to a new device. The container’s lid can be removed with one hand. Without a doubt, two earbuds are included in the carry case. The stem on these earbuds is quite long, but this isn’t always a disadvantage. You can control the OnePlus Buds Z2 by tapping their tops.

The design aesthetic of the Oneplus Nord Buds, on the other hand, is carried over to a pill-shaped case made of the same matte black plastic. The only distinguishing feature is the OnePlus brand name, which is written in glossy black letters that don’t stand out too much. A status LED illuminates the front, and a USB-C port and nearly invisible pairing button are located on the reverse.

Now that I’ve spent more time with my friends, I’ve noticed something else that seems off, but I’m not sure if it’s intentional or unintentional. It turns out that the top of the case has a magnetic field that can hold a single flower. Buds that are incorrectly oriented will not stay in place, but this hold is strong enough to keep a bud in place even when the case is on its side. This may seem like an odd reason to be excited, but I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve worn a single earbud and then removed it to talk. Rather than opening the case’s lid and reorienting the bud into its cradle, I can just set it down on the case’s top if I need to.

Sound Quality

One Plus Buds Nord

Don’t be put off by the $39 price tag if you’re expecting subpar audio. While the Nord Buds are unlikely to impress the most discerning music fans, they come dangerously close to the sound quality produced by their more expensive counterparts. While most buds in this price range accentuate bass to compensate for muffled mids and highs, the Nord Buds sound great across the entire frequency spectrum. The extra bass is noticeable, but it’s clear that the speakers were designed for the average customer rather than to mask any other flaws. As a result, the mids are slightly underrepresented in the standard sound profile, but this can be corrected with a moderate boost in the EQ controls. If this is important to you, keep in mind that only SBC and AAC are supported, not the superior aptX codec.

However, if you want a low-cost option that still delivers on performance, the OnePlus Buds Z2 may be the way to go. If you enjoy bass-heavy music, the OnePlus Buds Z2 are excellent headphones to purchase.

It can produce extremely high volumes while maintaining high sound quality. In my opinion, the fact that these TWS earphones are so reasonably priced and also have noise cancellation is a huge plus. Users can choose from several noise reduction options, including Transparency and Noise Cancellation. There is also a “Normal” mode available.

The Buds Z2 from OnePlus has 11mm dynamic drivers and active noise cancellation (ANC) that can be turned up to 40 decibels.

While playing video games, these headphones worked perfectly. The OnePlus Buds Z2 has a respectable latency of 93ms. It also includes three high-quality microphones for clear voice calls.

There were no problems even when I was running hard and sweating profusely. This is most likely due to the headphones’ IP155 rating (water and dust-resistant). In case you were wondering, yes, the charging case is waterproof (rated IPX4).

Battery

OnePlus Buds Z2

The 7-hour battery life advertised by OnePlus for the One Plus Nord Buds appears to be accurate in my experience, though I can’t imagine listening for that long without pausing and putting the buds back in their case. The case can be charged for another 23 hours of playtime, bringing the total playtime to 30 hours.

The OnePlus Buds Z2 has excellent battery life. You can listen to music, podcasts, or whatever else you want without having to worry about your battery dying. The Z2 Buds are capable of fast charging. The USB Type-C port on the back of the charging case, which can be used in conjunction with a OnePlus charging brick, allows for fast charging.

The OnePlus Buds Z2 charging case includes a 520mAh battery that, according to the manufacturer, can power the headphones for up to 38 hours of listening time. Despite the fact that I didn’t keep track, I’m willing to bet that a single charge from the carrying case will last for more than 30 hours.

One Plus Buds Nord Vs OnePlus Buds Z2: Final Verdict

The Nord Buds from OnePlus are an example of “underpromising and overdelivering.” They’re not quite as good as their most expensive competitor, the OnePlus Buds Pro, but they’re a lot closer than they should be for a quarter of the price. Many users will not mind the trade-offs, especially if they do not already own a OnePlus device. The OnePlus Buds Z2 is an excellent choice if you want a pair of TWS headphones with all the bells and whistles without breaking the bank. The OnePlus Buds Z2 also has a useful feature in that you can adjust the volume of the sound. They are available for purchase through the OnePlus India website, Amazon, and local retailers. The Buds Z, another OnePlus earphone option, is even more affordable. However, the OnePlus Buds Z2 have more features.
