HP Chromebook x360 14A Vs HP Pavilion 13-bb0075TU: Which To Choose?

The Chromebook is still uncommon in the Indian laptop market almost ten years after its initial global release. Chromebook models from companies like HP, Acer, and Samsung have been available in the past, but none of them have ever really taken off. There has never been a notable Chromebook success story in India from any of these brands. This is mostly because these devices sell for a high price and also because consumers expect more from their laptops, like the support of Windows software. However, HP is certain that the moment has arrived for the Chromebook to return. The Chromebook x360 was thus released by the American PC manufacturer recently.

Talking about Laptops, An extremely powerful laptop that is also small, thin, and light has a certain attractiveness. Many customers, especially in the Windows 10 market, are looking for this blending of the checklist, but without having to sacrifice some digits to pay the asking price. In reality, given the state of the world over the last year or two, laptops are highly popular among those who work remotely or from home. However, there aren’t too many laptops available in the Windows 10 market that can genuinely achieve this while still preserving some price. The new HP Pavilion 13 laptop, however, is doing just that. We are comparing the HP Chromebook x360 14A vs. HP Pavilion 13-bb0075TU variants here. We will cover every aspect of the two devices in great depth.

Build And Design

HP Chromebook x360

The Chromebook x360 convertible’s 16mm-thin body, which is claimed by HP as being “made with premium matte and anodized finish,” has a “dynamic chrome-plated hinge.” According to HP, the top cover is comprised of 3D metal and coated with a unique substance for a ceramic-like appearance. This is why the laptop has a classy look but also feels heavy in the hands. A shiny, spotless 14-inch display panel is found inside, ringed by somewhat thick black bezels. A cool blue color that doesn’t quite match the top cover is used to paint the keyboard area and, in fact, the entire base panel.

The keyboard area’s keys, on the other hand, take on a slightly darker shade of blue, giving it a more unorthodox identity. For an added sense of elegance, the wide touchpad also receives a subdued “diamond cut trim” around the edges. The HP Chromebook x360 is a very well-engineered product. However,  this HP product may have benefitted from a reduction in weight.

Talking about HP Pavilion 13, Due to the limited functionality of this size factor, entry-level laptop solutions can quickly become rather boring. Not to mention that it would cost more money to make a laptop like the HP Pavilion look, feel, and function better. However, despite these constraints, HP has created a laptop that is not only unlike anything else we’ve seen in the market to date at its price range but also glances and feels more premium than it actually is in reality.

Although it is not a convertible laptop, you probably won’t be able to differentiate between the two. It is not until you open the cover and begin using the device that you realize it is a standard laptop. The same can be said with construction materials. From a distance, it doesn’t actually appear to be constructed of anything other than metal. You don’t realize it is entirely made of plastic until you hold it out at length and scratch it.

This laptop would remind me of the XPS if We were to use the most basic analogy to describe it. It is quite sleek. Very sharp. Really high-end. The two-stage USB ports and the screen’s ability to rise up at an angle to allow for cooling are both minor but distinctive features of this laptop that serve as technical showcases for skilled engineering.

Display

A 14-inch Full HD touchscreen with WLED backlighting is featured on the HP Chromebook x360. In our opinion, the display is vibrant and colorful. The display’s colors look vibrant without being excessively saturated, which is good news for people who enjoy taking pictures. In reality, the colors have a warm tone that makes browsing and prolonged reading enjoyable. The maximum brightness is adequate for sunlight balconies, houses, and workplaces. The viewing angle is nearly 180 degrees at its maximum. The touch response is a little slow, so you might need to swipe the screen more than once to scroll. The display on the Chromebook x360 will work just fine if you intend to use it mostly as a laptop.

Regarding the HP Pavilion’s display, it has a 13.3-inch screen with a 1080p resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It has an IPS panel. And shiny. It goes without saying that HP is promoting it as a portable entertainment system. It is up to a point, but it doesn’t get particularly bright until you’re actually moving around. The dual bottom-firing speaker system is an advantage. Given the size of the product, it is quite impressive. Moving on, colors are not always the most accurate when they are first applied. Additionally, manual tweaking does not really change much. That’s Another reason why you cannot perform any professional-level photo editing on this laptop.

Performance

HP Pavilion 13-bb0075TU

According to the Chromebook x360 review, it is an efficient and trustworthy partner for performing routine tasks. When we used the review unit to compose emails and papers, browse the internet, play music in the background, watch videos, and perform a variety of other things, we encountered almost no problems at all. Without experiencing any slowness or stuttering, We were able to switch between about thirty tabs in Chrome. While switching between virtual desktops, We occasionally noticed a stutter in the animation, although it was never really distracting over time.

To suggest that the Chromebook x360’s ability to start up from a fresh boot in less than ten seconds and to open a PDF file of typical size (1.5–2MB) in less than two seconds is an average speed. Laptops with Windows 10 that are in the same price range typically take three times slower to boot to the desktop than comparable desktop computers. This is primarily due to the use of a slow hard drive. Therefore, if rapid browsing is your primary motivation for purchasing a new laptop, the HP Chromebook x360 is the ideal choice. We believe the Chromebook x360 might have had a bigger storage drive despite the one-year Google One membership, which gives users 100GB more capacity on Google Drive.

Given the state of the world over the last year or two, laptops are quite popular among people who work remotely or from home. However, there aren’t many laptops running Windows 10 that actually accomplish this while still being reasonably priced. Nevertheless, this is precisely what the new HP Pavilion 13 laptop is accomplishing for its users.  The core specifications include an 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a 512 GB solid-state drive, and the laptop weighs only 1.24 kg despite having a 13.3-inch display.

To put this into perspective, the integrated graphics processing unit (iGPU) known as Iris Xe Graphics G7 that is found within this laptop is about equivalent to the Nvidia GeForce MX250. Although a little light gaming is certainly not out of the question, this laptop is not made to be a gaming machine.

Ports

The majority of the necessary ports are located on each side of the HP Chromebook x360’s body. A microSD card slot, a 3.5mm audio socket for headsets, and a USB-C 3.1 port are all located on the left side of the device. A USB-A 3.1 port and a USB-C 3.1 port are located on the right side. On the sides of the laptop’s body are located the volume rocker and power button.

A budget laptop has the advantage because you anticipate it to have a good amount of connectors. There are always exceptions, though, and keep in mind that it also depends on the type of area that is accessible. You get to have enough space in the HP Pavilion to actually fit those ports in. This laptop’s every square inch has been utilized by HP. One USB Type-C (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort 1.4), two USB Type-A, one HDMI 2.0, a micro-SD card reader, one AC smart pin, and a headphone/microphone combo are the ultimate result.

HP Chromebook x360 14A Vs HP Pavilion 13-bb0075TU: Final Verdict

The new HP Chromebook x360 is different from a regular Windows laptop in that you can’t truly compare it to one. You can’t criticize it for not promising you a more potent CPU or more features for your money because it makes no such promises.
