Design and Build Quality:

The Bose SoundLink micro is a small square-shaped speaker that comes with a soft and rugged silicone rubber design that protects it against minor falls. The speaker is flat and has a tear-resistant strap at the back so that you can attach it to your bag or your vehicle while travelling. 

This speaker has a well-built quality. The protective silicone rubber covers the entire speaker. The control buttons are present on the silicone casting and it also consists of five lights that indicate the battery of the speaker. It comes in three colour variants; Black, Bright Orange and Midnight blue.

The JBL Flip 5 is a long cylindrical shaped speaker with a tight-knit fabric that is wrapped around the speaker. It comes with a detachable strap and can be placed horizontally or vertically. The build quality of the JBL Flip 5 is good and it is mostly made of plastic but it looks sturdy. The control buttons have a rubber texture and the tight-knit that covers the entire speaker seems to be strong and doesn’t rip off easily. It comes in eleven colour variants.

Sound Quality:

The Bose SoundLink micro has a crisp, balanced sound that is quite impressive for its size. It has a mono custom mounted transducer and one passive radiator that work together to deliver fine, balanced audio with rich bass. This speaker is best for indoor use. 

There is a built-in microphone that lets you access your phone’s Siri or Google assistant directly through the speaker. It works fine with Amazon echo dot and it also lets you make phone calls directly through the speaker. 

The JBL Flip 5 delivers clean and well-balanced sound. With its dual external passive radiators and a racetrack-shaped driver, the speaker gives out a powerful rich bass that will make your playlist more enjoyable. The Highs and lows are quite impressive for their size but it lacks omnidirectional sound. This speaker does not support voice assistants.

The Bose SoundLink micro has a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery with decent battery life. It provides a battery backup of about six hours per charge and it takes quite a while to charge this speaker. 

The JBL Flip 5 has a lithium-ion polymer battery that has a capacity of 4800 mAh. The charging time of this speaker is about 2.5 hours. It provides playtime of 12 hours, therefore, you can listen to your music for long hours without worrying about its charge.

The Bose SoundLink micro has good Bluetooth performance but the version is not specified.
