The Galaxy Tab S6 is more expensive, but it has a better screen (AMOLED), quad speakers, and a faster processor than the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, so it’s worth it. Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 vs Oppo Pad Air: Detailed Analysis

Design

From the front, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite resembles the Galaxy Tab S6 (Review), except that it has a 10.4-inch screen rather than a 10.5-inch screen. The thick bezels on the tablet are appropriate for a device of this size. In fact, I’ve reviewed smartphones that are thinner than the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite’s 7mm thickness. The 467 grams of this tablet are noticeable when using it with one hand for extended periods of time. I could use it one-handed, but I preferred to use both hands.

In contrast, we discovered that the Oppo Airpad’s design performed admirably in our tests. At 440 grams, this phone is thinner and lighter than most others in its price range. Watching TV on this slate was a pleasurable experience, thanks to its four stereo speakers.

Specifications

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC inside the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 made it a capable device. Having said that, Samsung has used its own Exynos 9611 SoC, which is commonly found in low-cost smartphones such as the Galaxy M21, to keep the price low (Review). OPPO’s ColorOS for Pad, on the other hand, is a unique take on Android based on OPPO’s experience with the operating system. When compared to OPPO phones with their bloated software, the Pad Air is a welcome change. Split Screen and Dual Windows are multitasking aids, but this tab isn’t quite ready to be pushed to its limits just yet. The tab worked well for gaming and watching videos, but it slowed slightly when too many apps were open at the same time. This is an excellent time to purchase, as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 is an excellent value. There are two models: 4GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB; we tested the former. Geekbench gave our Pad Air benchmark test a score of 1654.

Display

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has a 10.4-inch TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 2000×1200 pixels. Because it lacks an AMOLED panel like the Galaxy Tab S6, the content is less vibrant and the colours aren’t as vibrant as I would have liked. Surprisingly, no fingerprint reader has been installed. One was on the side of the Galaxy Tab S5e (Review), but the Galaxy Tab S6 has one embedded in the screen. However, face recognition technology already exists.

The Oppo Pad Air, on the other hand, is a fantastic all-purpose tablet. It does not present itself as a workhorse, instead emphasizing its emotional intelligence (Entertainment Quotient in this case). The 10.36-inch 2K screen’s colours pop, and the slim bezels (only 8 mm) add to the overall sense of immersion. Dolby Atmos Stereo Quad speakers produce truly breathtaking audio. A massive 7100mAh battery powers all of this. We agree with OPPO that the company’s claim of 12 hours of video playback is accurate based on our testing.

Performance

The tablet’s 4GB of RAM was plenty to keep most apps running and made multitasking a breeze. Despite having five pop-up windows open at the same time, the tablet responded quickly when I used the split screen feature. Facial recognition was one feature that fell short of its promise. It generally didn’t work in my testing, so I had to resort to using a PIN.

Under my normal usage conditions, which primarily consisted of streaming YouTube videos and playing casual games like Clash Royale and Idle Miner Tycoon, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite performed admirably. There was no discernible lag, but some games and apps took longer to load than expected. Asphalt 9: Legends was playable with the default settings, though I did notice some stuttering in a few races. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite performs well in light games but falls short in more demanding titles.

Furthermore, the Oppo Pad Air was an excellent tablet for less critical tasks such as watching videos, reading emails, browsing social media and using apps in split screen mode. The app’s user interface, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired, as navigating it was not at all smooth (due to things like sluggish loading times and jerky animation). I found the audio to be so immersive thanks to the device’s quad speakers and Dolby Atmos compatibility that I rarely used my earphones. Because there is no 3.5 mm headphone jack, you must use wireless headphones.

The tablet market is small, but Samsung has released the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, which runs the Android operating system. Aside from being tough, this thing has excellent battery life. Fortunately, the S Pen stylus comes as a free bonus. When compared to the Oppo Pad Air, another low-cost tablet, it stands out for its ability to provide a solid viewing experience and handle even the most basic of tasks. However, the device lacks some features, such as a 3.5mm headphone jack and LTE support. You do, however, get a sleek and lightweight tablet with a good display and a long battery life.
